You might be someone who says "They are doing this for political reasons" or "These women are only coming forward for the lime-light".
Okay. For that to be true, you have to assume a number of things:
- That these women, who a majority of which are successful, career-capable women, would be willing to let their life, families, morality and sexuality be dissected ad-nauseam publicly by the media for months, if not years to come. To deny their allegations out-right, you have to assume they are willing to be proven false by an FBI investigation....
- You have to pretend that Trumps arguments of "why didn't they come forward years ago" aren't a festering example of disgusting arguments that have been repeated in these situations for decades now. You have to assume Trump and his kind are NOT people that make accusations and lie to protect themselves and their agenda...
(If you believe that last one after the last 2 years, you are not someone I will ever trust the judgement of, ever again. So please comment below so I can make sure I take proper note)
- You have to assume that all FIVE of these women meet whatever qualifications you bring to the table, or that I have just set. And for that to be true, historically when it comes to accusations of this magnitude and numbers, is literally 0% likely, historically, of ALL FIVE OF THESE being false accusations.
- On top of all that, you have to accept that you are denying all this while accepting that a Republican Congress and Republican Senate and Republican President is denying the standard of investigation that has been set for the last 200 years of Supreme Court Justices, that at least allowed for investigation on behalf of Anita Hill (American Attorney, Professor and Academic) in the early 1990s, when Clarence Thomas was pushed through despite her public and embarrassing congressional testimony about her sexual assault, by another Republican vote. You have to accept they are denying these women that standard for reasonable, non-partisan reasons.
If you can swallow all that, and the unprecedented nature of it all, please comment below so myself and others can take note. I honestly won't even argue with you. Please just comment with your dissent.
is a thirty-something guy who hasn't been able to look away from politics since 2008. Around the time he got tired of staring at religion.
